About Thiemers English Book Club with Fran as host: We read novels that gained cultural importance by sparking sustained conversation in their societies. We are less interested in whether a book was universally loved than whether it was debated, read differently by different groups, and articulated experiences or concerns that are often uncomfortable or hard to name.
